Real Wedding Feature: The Story of Lauren and David
Lauren and David’s journey began in the corridors of Shannon College of Hotel Management, but it wasn’t until their paths crossed at The Shelbourne Hotel that their love story truly took flight. In the midst of lockdown, amidst the scenic beauty of Caragh Lake, David’s romantic proposal set the stage for their future together.
The Wedding Day:
September 10, 2022, marked the day when Lauren and David tied the knot in a classical and elegant-themed wedding. The couple desired a timeless celebration, focusing on the essence of elegance but maintaining a laid-back approach. Their priority was clear – to celebrate their union surrounded by loved ones.
The venue, Clonwilliam House, played a pivotal role in their choice, with the team, especially Miriam, leaving an indelible impression on the couple. The wedding aesthetic was inspired by pure elegance, with personal touches adding a unique charm to the day. One such memorable element was the couple’s journey to the church in Lauren’s late grandfather’s vintage Rolls Royce.
The Challenges and Triumphs:
Despite facing last-minute cancellations from their original photographer and ceremony singer, Lauren and David’s day was a testament to resilience and joy. Catherine O’Hara stepped in as the photographer, capturing the beauty and emotion of their special day with grace and professionalism.
Memorable Moments:
The wedding was made even more special with their incredible bridal party and the remodelling of Lauren’s great grandmother’s gold wedding band into their wedding rings. Their first dance was to Bryan Adams’ “Everything I Do, I Do It for You,” a fitting tribute to their love and commitment.
Advice for Future Couples
Lauren and David’s advice to couples planning their wedding is to embrace the unexpected.
“You can’t plan for everything, and something will inevitably go wrong, but just roll with it and remember why you are getting married.”
