A Micro Wedding Explored

Covid 19 has turned the whole wedding industry on it’s head. For many couples there has been so much uncertainty resulting in thousands of weddings in limbo between postponing, cancelling or resizing their wedding.

An increasing amount of couples have resided to the fact that this year will not give them the wedding they’ve dreamt of and rather than going ahead with various restrictions on guests, they are opting to get leagally married with a very small crowd and having a big party or the wedding reception the following year when all is calmer.

Today, Nina Val Photography captured what a micro wedding might look like when it is just the two of you getting married without the bigger celebration to follow. The pro is that you have plenty of time to get amazing pictures of you both as a couple. Nina gives us some gorgeous inspiration for you all to enjoy!

In Nina’s words…..

“I wanted to capture what a micro-wedding or an elopement shoot would look like for couples interested in Dublin and beyond. The shoot was based around emigration and setting sail from Ireland, via the Atlantic. I collaborated with an original Irish brand who captures Irishness and emigration in it’s entrity. Kinn Óir is a Luxury Irish Bridal Accessories brand specialising in unique, timeless veils and headpieces, adding the perfect finishing touch for your special day. This is a milestone in wedding photography as we were the first team to shoot bridal in EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum. The dress is a modern, sleek and minimalist. This gave the perfect canvas to accessorize and standout in the unique settings.

Our bride model adorned the Cleo headpiece from Kinn Oir. The name “Cleo”comes from Cliona in Irish mythology who was, among other things, an inspiration for poets. In Greek it means glory and the gold laurel branches are reminiscent of Greek and Roman times. While on the beach we appropriately switched up our hair piece to the Atlantic Crown which symbolises beauty, strength, the perfect imperfection of nature and the hope and promise of what lies ahead. While setting sail into the Ocean, Lynseyann wore a variation of Kinn Óir Erin veil with hand painted gold leaf “
