I took some time out to catch up with Thalgo to chat about Bridal Skin Preparation. I adore this brand and have for a long time. They are the preferred brand of many spa’s and beauticians around the country. What makes them different is their marine and ocean origins. Personally, I love the scent, and the feeling of pure luxury on my face. They have a superb anti-aging collection too.
I asked them the questions that you guys ask me about bridal skin prep and here is what they said…..

How best to prepare the skin to ensure a glowing look for the big day?
The Golden Rule is to have a really good consistent skin routine. Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated, eat a well-balanced diet, keep active to help your overall circulation and make sure you get your Beauty sleep.

What does a good routine look like?
It’s imperative that your skin can breathe particularly overnight. So when we cleanse, tone and exfoliating regularly, this helps improve your skin significantly and help fend off breakouts/blackheads by unclogging pores and leaving your skin smoother for makeup application.
For Morning time: Cleanse, Tone, Serum, Eye Cream, Moisturiser, SPF
Evening time: Make up Remover, Cleanse, Tone, Moisturiser
Exfoliate, once or twice a week to remove any dead skin cells and keep your skin looking radiant.
3 What about wrinkles?
Unfortunately aging is inevitable but with technologies and information we have today, you really can look as young as you feel! With the daily use of a good eye cream, serum and moisturiser particularly one that contains hyaluronic acid it is especially effective at preventing wrinkles forming and getting deeper. Drinking plenty of water and getting adequate sleep helps the skin remain more elastic and less likely to wrinkle. Avoiding the sun and wearing sunscreen will also protect your skin not only from skin cancers but will help prevent wrinkles at the same time. Don’t smoke, cigarette smoke ages the skin by breaking down the collagen and elastin in our skin, which can cause premature ageing.

What is best for those last minute stress induced issues: puffy eyes, breakouts…I had all of this myself on the morning of my wedding!
Your body listens to everything your mind says, and stress releases Cortisol that slows the production of hyaluronic acid and its ability to retain water, which can leave the skin looking dull and dehydrated. Because cortisol can interrupt sleep, dark circles, puffiness and breakouts are hallmarks of brides and grooms. Limit caffeine intake as this can cause the skin to produce more oil, leading to breakouts and avoid alcohol the night before the wedding as it will dehydrate the skin and make your eyes puffy. With the use of Thalgo Wrinkle Correct Pro Eye patches, they will give you instant and lasting results, the eyes will immediately appear younger, and the winkles, even if they are in place, seem less visible.. The Thalgo Imperfection Corrector is an SOS treatment rich in repairing Hyaluronic acid. This gel helps to clear up bacterial hotspots and promotes the disappearance of imperfections in just a couple of days
I hope that you all found this as helpful as I did.
