Popping the question has changed slightly over the years. For the proposer there is a much higher expectation of creative ways to propose.
My favourite one so far has to be from Annie & Geoffs real wedding:
“Annie arrived home after a hard days work to find the hall covered in rose petals, (their baby pooch Holly was of course eating them). Now here is the best part…..I could actually cry…….Holly had a pink jumper on which said “Mammy, will you marry my Daddy?”. Dear lord Geoff, you’re killing us! In the living room there was Geoff on one knee in a three piece suit (even though it was one of the hottest days of the summer). He had candles lit everywhere, roses and a bottle of champagne.”
Or you could be as romantic as Darren, he hired a secret photographer! Take a look here!
The biggest change over the years is that the proposer wont buy the actual engagement ring but will use a ‘promise ring’, which allows the couple to shop together to ensure the right decision is made!
When it comes to shopping, there are a few ways to shop. I will be covering each way in detail over the next few blogs.
Choices include:
- Hit the high street
- Custom made
- Go abroad – focus on Antwerp
Before you go anywhere, be sure to read my guide to shopping for an engagement ring!
