This is the highlight for so many bridal calendars. All of the top world wide bridal designers launch their AW and SS collections in the city that never sleeps, New York. Bridal stores from across the world fly in to the Big Apple to shop the looks and enjoy the fashion shows.
From the below pictures you can see that there is more emphasis on jumpsuits, capes, suits and structured shapes in comparison to last year. We are seeing more and more feathers and 3d applique’s too. One of the things I love about this particular show is the cool venues that the fashion shows get hosted in…..super cool New York!
The overarching trend I’m seeing more of is the appliqués and illusion bodices. I’m the appliqués fall towards the hips so it lengthens the body nicely. Another key feature is going the extra mile with beaded and stone work on corsets as well as structured bead work that covers the dress from head to toe. The Lian Rokman above is a perfect example of this.
I have been keeping a close eye on social media for the last 48 hours and so far these are the collections that are standing out to me so far:
