Ruben Bridal Kildare
I bumped in to the girls from Ruben Bridal at the RDS Wedding and Honeymoon Show a few weeks ago and I have to say, I was really impressed with the service and range they provide.
Lets face it, we all come in very different shapes and sizes and most bridal shops struggle to cater for sizes above a 14 but Ruben Bridal in Kildare was set up to solely cater for sizes 16 right up to 32.

Ruben Bridal was set up over 8 years ago by Janet Wall and Catherine Mc Cann when they realised that there was a serious gap in the market for this service. They found that so many brides over the size of 14 and they were disheartened by their wedding dress shopping experience rather than elated. They decided to put a stop to this to ensure that all can feel the same joy when they try on a dress. They also noticed that most of the stock in other bridal shops had brides-to-be looking like a sack of spuds instead of complementing their curves in the right places. They carefully select every gown that comes in to their shop and know all of the best styles to suit curvier shapes. Princess, Empire and Ballgown are the most flattering styles and some A-lines can work well (if the bust is modest!)
Ruben Bridal also has a Bridesmaid Dress range, again for the more curvier shape. They have a dress in every shape in colour so it’s well worth a visit!

What really got me excited about these guys is that they stock maternity bridal and bridesmaids dresses as I need to get one for myself, I was delighted to hear that as i’m finding it extremely hard to find a maternity bridesmaid dress.
Another perk is that they do the alterations there in the shop, I know when I was getting married, I had to go somewhere else to get my dress altered and that added an extra layer of worry! I think it’s good to have the reassurance that it’s all done under the one roof. Never mind the convenience!

They also do private only appointments so all of the attention is on you and your party. Again when i was getting my dress there were about 2 other brides there during my appointment. It is nice to feel really special with that one on one attention. You also don’t feel that you’ve to share the attention.
