A Magical Real Wedding at Rock Farm Slane
And now for something completely different…
Introducing Elle & Phil’s utterly unique wedding festival by Flawless Photo Finish
Following an anything but formal engagement, both Elle & Phil had a very clear vision for their big day and that was…..something less ordinary. They knew exactly what type of wedding they wanted so once engaged, they viewed Rock Farm Slane and booked it. Needless to say, every invite was snapped up.
The Big Day
“We wanted our wedding to be about us. We wanted to show who we were in every aspect of the day.”
Luckily, the weather was superb meaning that Elle and Phil could have the day they dreamt of. The sun was splitting the stones.
Elle channelled her inner rockabilly vintage style for the big day. Her dress and cape was custom made by Mizz Rio and shoes were custom-made by an Austrian shoe designer on Etsy.
“The ceremony was beautiful, Sean was amazing, he made the service personal, funny and inclusive. Blinked my eyes and it was over.”
They opted for a non traditional welcome reception and provided their own starters and canapés. They had a delicious four-tier savoury cheese cake from Sheridans Cheese (Loove this!) along with grazing platters with lots of meats, crackers, olives, fruit, relishes and pickles.
Guests got to enjoy the couples very own home-brew beers (which they branded ‘Elph….get it Elle-Phil??? Genius!!).
The main meal was hosted in the barn, again less formal with no seating plan and a buffet style dinner. This is definitely my kind of wedding!
The multi-award winning Shane Black blew everyone’s mind with his mind reading show.
Bronson and Clyro (Alpacas) stole the show and posed for photos. Guests had a ball playing Corn Hole and Kubb on the lawn. The atmosphere was chilled, and everyone spent the afternoon laughing and enjoying themselves. What a super experience for guests.
As if that wasn’t enough fun, Elle and Phil treated their guests to ‘Those Fire Guys’. Those Fire Guys are fire performers and are unreal! Of course Elle and Phil were made join in, much to their absolute fear.
‘Midnight Sounds’ rocked the dance floor and even when Elle and Phil took a notion to perform an un-choreographed dance, which resulted Elle almost losing a tooth, they played on and kept the party going.
When the dancing was over, the all-night partiers headed off to the camp fires where there was more home-brew beers and a good old-fashioned sing along.
Parting Advice
“The hardest part for us was sticking to our plan! It’s very easy to get lost when planning, and EVERYONE is going to have their opinion and input, and while it’s always nice getting advice, everything we had/did on our day, was entirely our choice.”
