After meeting in 2009, fast forward to Friday 13th May 2016 where Eva arrived home to the shock of her life…..
“There were rose petals and candles everywhere with a path with little notes and photos with messages from Sean, and there he was at the end of it, on one knee with an engagement ring. It really was the perfect proposal, he had already picked the ring out, and it made it all the more romantic.” Eva
Both Eva and Sean were fairly relaxed about the preparations but did shop around to find the perfect venue and suppliers for their needs. They fell in love with Castle Leslie….to be fair, how could you not!
“Castle Leslie were fantastic, they made the whole thing so easy for us”
Once the venue was confirmed, everything else pretty much fell in to place. They had some preferred wedding suppliers who they booked straight away.
The Dress:
Eva looked like a princess. This dress was made for her, it should be called ‘The Eva’! The dress was selected from White Gallery in Warrenpoint and it is by Devine Atelier. Devine Atelier specialises in a unique blend of traditional crossed with boho style dresses. You can see the bodice has lace appliques which extends out to sleeves. It is beautifully tailored at the top and nips in at the waist giving a teeny tiny look. The layered tulle skirt bursts from the waist giving it that real princess look. I love how beautifully tailored this dress is. It fits Eva like a glove and that’s with thanks to the amazing alterations at Sharon Hoey.
The Day:
As you will see in the pictures below, they were blessed with the weather. I loved the elegant style of this wedding. Everything came together seamlessly. When I watched the video of the day, I couldn’t get over how laid back both houses were! Chilled out is an understatement. From ceremony to reception, everything was perfect. They had the Charles Kavanagh Band, who were exceptional and their first dance was a live performance of At Last by Etta James.
“The day itself was fantastic and was filled with love and laughter. It was everything we dreamed of and more.”
Special Touches:
Eva and Sean ended up booking a photo-booth which was a real hit with the guests. They had little pots of homemade jam as favours that were kindly made by Eva’s bridesmaid Jennifer’s mum. They added such a special touch and they received so many photos the next day of guests having their jam on toast! They also had personalised welcome bags in each of the guests rooms with supplies to make the guests feel welcome and help with the hangover the next day! How nice is that!
Sean is an exceptional designer. He designed all of the stationery for their wedding day. Oh and may I just add, Sean designed my book and I’m sure you will agree how amazing it looks. He also created the menus which matched the invitations. Now here is the genius part….Sean designed song request cards for the DJ, this was a complete crowd pleaser and the dance floor was never empty!
Honeymoon:
Eva and Sean didn’t hold back on the honeymoon. They travelled to Dubai for four days and then travelled down to Kenya and went on Safari for 8 days. Wow! They then travelled over to Silhouette Island aka Paradise in the Seychelles for a week.
“If we could recommend anywhere for honeymoon it would hands down be the Seychelles, it was the most romantic and relaxing place we have ever been.”
Parting Advice:
“Do things your own way, don’t concern yourself too much with keeping others happy as everyone will be happy if you are.”
