Welcome to the elegant and classical wedding of Sabrina and Adam. Hosted in Adare Manor and day captured by Dermot Culhane.
Engagement
Having met in the salubrious setting of Icon Nite Club in Limerick, little did they know that 6 years later Adam would be down on one knee in the mud in Killarney National Park asking for Sabrina’s hand in marriage. Luckily she said yes and we get to see this beautiful wedding.
Planning
Priority one was to get the date sensitive pieces coordinated so without any delay, they loved Adare Manor and booked it. Once that date was set, photographer was next. They had to book the church in good time as they were particular about the date they wanted.
Within the first 6 months, they pretty much had the wedding planned but it wasn’t until a year out when they started to bring all of the smaller details together.
“Try and have a clear image of what you want your day to actually look like before you jump into the planning. This will obviously differ from couple to couple, we both love Christmas and from the very start we wanted a Christmas wedding, so we went from there which in turn gave us an idea of colours for the flowers for example.”
The Big Day
Having picked a December date, weather was an obvious concern but the day was beautiful and the rain held back until 6pm which meant they could soak up Adare’s beautiful grounds for photography.
“The dinner was great, we split the speeches with two before and two after. Then we had our first dance, and the whole thing kind of turned into a bit of a rave! All in all it was amazing but the day absolutely flew, it was over in a blink of an eye.”
Sabrina chose to give a speech herself and I love hearing this as it’s my regret for my own wedding!
Sabrina and Adam had a very clear visual plan for their day and there were so many special touches to bring this to life. They had a lovely flower wall made up for the reception which worked great for guests’ photos. A monogram and a colour theme/design was developed and incorporated throughout. It went from the engagement party balloons to their save the dates, invitations, cake and table cards.
A big feature on the night was the impressive fireworks display and it was the perfect close to the perfect day.
Honeymoon
Having gotten married on the 7th of December, Sabrina and Adam didn’t want to miss Christmas with their family so they took a mini moon on New Year’s Eve in New York. They have just landed home amidst this Covid 19 madness from a Caribbean cruise and all-inclusive break in Mexico.
“It was unbelievable, a trip we’ll never forget.”
Parting Advice
“I would say try not to get too caught up in the finer details, what really matters is that you are marrying the person you want to be with for the rest of your life. Also don’t worry about things on the day, something will go wrong or not how you planned it, that’s a guarantee. Just go with it and enjoy yourself.”
