Introducing…. The Millars
They met by chance when Stephanie returned home from London to interview for a new job and like it was written in the stars, she got the job, moved home and started dating Robert.
Now, what some of you may not know is that Stephanie actually worked on the venue side of weddings for quite some time so it is no coincidence that her wedding is absolutely beautiful as was she on her wedding day.
Robert popped the question on Stephanies birthday, which caught her completely off guard as he always said that if he was to propose it would never be a cliche date.
They wasted no time and preparations kicked in very soon after they announced their engagement. They started by booking their church to make sure that they got their date.
Once the church was sorted, they searched for venues & fell in love with the Talbot Hotel Wexford. This is where they met so it held a very special place in their hearts! Once they sorted the venue, they took a back seat and waited until they were 10 months away to plan everything else.
First on the agenda was of course the dress. Stephanie took a trip to Memories Bridal Boutique in Cork. They come highly recommended. Once the dress was confirmed, they booked their honeymoon, photographer and videographer.
The year of preparations flew in and before they knew it, the big day arrived. On the day itself, well it rained all day long!!!
This didn’t dampen their spirits! The Talbot Hotel Wexford were spectacular and ensured that everyone was comfortable and well fed. As you can see from the pictures in the gallery below, lavender & lace was the theme and the special touches were so pretty. They had loads of fresh lavender jars around the church & hotel. Florist ‘Flowers By Katherine Lynch’ carried out Stephanies vision. They collected jam jars for a year and she worked her magic with them. Stephanies mum spent a few days wrapping them in lace & lavender ribbon! Also instead of a photo booth, they had a Polaroid camera & guest book. The guests took photos of themselves and popped them into the album!
There wasn’t a dry eye from laughing and crying during the speeches. They danced the night away with ‘Brand New Cadillac’ followed by DJ Steve from Digital Djs.
A few days later they jetted off the the Secrets Maroma Resort in Cancun, Mexico. They also went to Las Vegas for three nights.
From the bride:
“If there was anything I would do differently would have someone in charge of time keeping in the morning & throughout. Time can run away from you!! My advice would be to try and enjoy every moment and not worry about making sure everything is perfect. Things will fall into place naturally!”
