I’ve just returned from another visit to the Four Seasons Hotel Carlingford, and wow, what a treat! This isn’t my first time there, but with their recent refurbishments, the place feels brand new, and it’s totally worth a visit. It’s in a prime spot too, so it’s really handy for guests travelling from anywhere in Ireland.

Right in the heart of the medieval village of Carlingford, Co. Louth, between the rugged beauty of the mountains and the peaceful charm of the sea, the Four Seasons never fails to impress. Imagine your wedding snaps with that kind of backdrop! Carlingford Lough, the Cooley and Mourne Mountains, the Old Priory, and King John’s Castle, not to mention some of the traditional pub backdrops in Carlingford– you’re guaranteed some unforgettable photos! Overall, you won’t get a more versatile wedding venue in Co. Louth!

Ballroom

Now, let’s talk about the crown jewel of the Four Seasons Hotel Carlingford – the stunning ballroom. Honestly, it’s hard to capture in words the moment you step through the doors. It’s a show-stopper! It’s all fairy lights and natural light, which together create this airy, romantic atmosphere that’s like something out of a dream. The ballroom is incredibly versatile, able to host anything from smaller, intimate weddings to bigger weddings. It’s got everything – bar in the room, breakout lounges for those quieter moments, and even a private balcony with breathtaking views. Plus, they’ve got new table centrepieces and a floral arch up for hire, making it easy to style just the way you want it. And guess what? This already impressive balcony is due for a facelift soon. But trust me on this one – no photo does it justice. You just have to see it for yourself to truly appreciate its wow factor. It’s a room that takes your breath away every single time.

Ceremony

One of the standout features is the opportunity for couples to hold their wedding ceremonies on site. Imagine saying your ‘I do’s’ on the lawn, with the majestic Cooley Mountains as your backdrop – it’s pure magic! If you prefer an indoor setting, the hotel’s ballroom is also a fantastic option. The best part? You don’t miss out on those gorgeous views. Thanks to its thoughtful design, the ballroom shares the garden’s stunning vista, so you still get that sense of natural beauty and grandeur. Either way, you’re in for a spectacular ceremony.

One thing that really caught my eye on this visit was their new wedding brochure. They’ve laid out some really exciting wedding packages, and they’re gearing up to launch a fantastic new Winter Package for weddings in 2024. If you’ve ever dreamt of a cosy winter or Christmas wedding, this place would be perfect. the packages are unbelievable value, starting from €72, you get unrivalled value for a top quality venue.

You can also expect premium accommodation for you and your guests. The hotel has 58 superbly fitted bedrooms. And let’s talk about the Bridal Suite – it’s a total haven of luxury and comfort, all expertly designed by Interior Architect, Carol Browne Designs.

A new cool addition – the Lough Larder, where your guests can enjoy ice creams on the day. How fun is that? I’m also thrilled to share that they’re getting a stretch tent ready for summer 2024 – an amazing feature for those looking to have an outdoor afterparty in their stunning gardens.

The Luxe Spa

The Luxe Spa…..What can I say! This isn’t just a spa, it’s an oasis of relaxation. This isn’t a typical spa that you could anywhere, this is all about the wellness. They have a dedicate Vitamin D and Collagen Treatment Bed, Hot Tub and Sauna Therapy to name but a few but overall, it’s very targeted on well-being. Perfect for couples wanting to escape the pre-wedding hustle, you can indulge in everything from massages to facials, all tailored for both men and women. And it’s not just for couples, either – it makes a brilliant spot for a hen party or even a tranquil retreat for guests. Overall, the Luxe Spa is a fantastic addition that takes the whole wedding experience at the Four Seasons Hotel Carlingford up another notch.

One person you have to meet at the Four Seasons is Linda Scott. As the hotel’s wedding coordinator, she’s won awards for her outstanding work, and trust me, they’re well deserved! Linda is one of the best in this whole business and every wedding supplier that knows her will tell you so.
