I was invited to come and host a wedding event with the Slieve Russell Hotel team last Sunday. I was blown away by the amazing team and beautiful grounds. I had afternoon tea here 14 years ago and I wasn’t looking at it with a wedding eye but this time I did and it did not disappoint.
The wedding experience event was a great day out. The arrival reception took place in the Shannon Suite and everyone was treated to samples of what could be chosen for their big day. I welcomed everyone with Tony the hotels GM. Guests were invited to view the Woodford and Erne suites which were set up for dining and a civil ceremony. The decor is lovely and neutral with a splash of contemporary. The chairs are fab.
When everyone had taken in both suites, we met at the front door and I led them down to the garden where they were greeted by a saxophonist, afternoon tea and cocktails. The garden reception area is one of my favourite parts. The sun was shining and there is nowhere else you would want to be.
En route to the final stage of the journey, an outdoor civil ceremony was set up. The ceremony location overlooks the golf course and beyond. Your photos would be amazing!
Everyone reconvened at the Cranaghan Suite for some supplier catch ups and drinks reception. Once welcomed in to the room, both myself and GM Tony, unveiled the new plans for the redesign of the Cranaghan Suite.
The tones and sentiment is themed around bringing the beautiful outside of the Slieve Russell indoors. I loved the carpet! The designer of the carpet took old maps of County Cavan and reworked in a contemporary concept design. I’m really looking forward to seeing this redesign when it’s finished.
Following the big unveiling, some of the Slieve Russell hotel’s preferred suppliers took to the stage with me for an expert panel discussion.
The panel of experts included; Finbar O’ Donoghue Photography, Vivienne from Spiritual Ceremonies, Accent Music, Clive from Vertigo Band, Aoife from Sheefin Flowers Mullingar and Ola from Creative Cakes.
After the panel chat, Vertigo took to the stage to rock out some tunes! One couple enjoyed it so much that they got up for a jive!
I loved the decor throughout the event. Between Completely Covered and Sheefin Flowers, they had collaborated to create some really beautiful looks.
