Amanda Wakeley could be one of my favourite designers. Her styles are beautifully elegant yet contemporary. My first introduction to Wakeley was at a wedding fashion show in Galgorm Hotel when Castle Couture were showcasing their range. I remember I set my eyes on the ‘Cleopatra’ dress and was gutted that I didn’t spot this for my own wedding. The Amanda Wakeley signature is the detail that she puts in to the back of the dress. I can now spot a Wakeley gown by the back design alone. The next time I got to indulge in her range was during my visit to Myrtle Ivory. This time I got to physically hold the dresses and they material is so rich and luscious. The dresses are so flattering in shape but be warned some gowns will show every lump and bump but…..nothing spanx can’t sort out!
